In the framework of the project “Together for the abolition of the death penalty in Central Africa and South-East Asia”, the National Human Rights Commission of the DRC (CNDH-RDC) met on 16 March 2021 for a workshop on strategies for the implementation of the NHRC’s roadmap on the abolition of the death penalty, adopted in December 2019.
The workshop was organised by ECPM and its Congolese partner Culture pour la Paix et la Justice (CPJ). ECPM, CPJ and CNDH-RDC have been working together since 2017.
ECPM appreciates the CNDH’s commitment to the issue of abolition of the death penalty and welcomes the fact that the abolition of the death penalty in the DRC has a real place in the annual programme and strategic plan of the National Commission.
